We sell used and new forklifts across Pakistan. That can be a Japanese name like Toyota or Komatsu, Linde from Germany, Hyster, best known for its heavier machines, or one of the Chinese brands like Heli, Hangcha and EP.

A lot of people on site just call a forklift a lifter, and whatever you call it, you probably already know the job yours has to do. You know roughly how heavy your loads are, and whether the machine will work on a smooth indoor floor or out in the open. That is all we need to start, whether your site is a textile mill in Faisalabad, a warehouse in Karachi or a factory in Lahore. If you are not sure what to ask for, tell us what you lift and where, and we will suggest what fits.

Sometimes the right machine is already here in Pakistan. When that happens, and its details have been checked and confirmed, it is shown on this page with its own photos. When nothing shown here fits your job, or nothing is shown when you visit, we look for one, and that is the main part of what we do.

Either way, you see real photos and a video of the actual machine before you decide anything. That includes its hour meter and its data plate. The hour meter counts how long the engine or motor has actually run, a bit like the kilometres on a car. The data plate is the metal plate from the factory with the model, the serial number and how much the machine is rated to lift.

So there is no confusion: the pictures on the brand cards further down show what that type of machine looks like. They are not photos of the machine you would be buying.

If you have searched for a forklift price in Pakistan, you have probably seen prices all over the place for machines that look almost the same in the pictures. That is because there is no single price: the price changes with the machine. A 2.5 ton Chinese electric and a 5 ton Japanese diesel are completely different purchases. Even two used forklifts of the same brand and the same year can be far apart in price once you look at the hours, the mast, the forks and how they have been looked after.

That is why there is no price list on this page. A fixed number on a website would either be a guess or a trick to make you call. Tell us the machine you need, and a person gives you the price of that exact machine. Before you ask, this is what makes the price go up or down:

• Hours and condition: on a used forklift, the hours on the meter and the condition matter more than the year, and they are the main reason used forklift prices in Pakistan vary so much. A machine with fewer hours, a mast that lifts smoothly, good forks and tyres and no leaks is worth more. Our guide on how many hours is too many explains what counts as low and high.
• Fresh paint: a new coat of paint makes a machine look younger, but it does not change the hours or the condition underneath, so judge a used forklift by its meter and its data plate, not its paint.
• Brand: Japanese and European names like Toyota, Komatsu and Linde usually cost more than Chinese brands like Heli, Hangcha and EP, used or new, and they tend to hold their value for longer. • Capacity: a 5 ton forklift has more steel, a bigger engine or motor and a heavier counterweight (the heavy block at the back that stops it tipping forward) than a 3 ton one, so it costs more to buy and more to move. The heavy end, 7 ton and above, is a different class of machine with a different price.
• Fuel and battery: on an electric forklift a large part of what you pay for is the battery, so the price of an electric forklift in Pakistan depends heavily on how healthy that battery is. A lithium battery usually costs more up front than lead acid, the standard type that works like a very large car battery. A worn-out lead acid battery can mean paying for a replacement soon after you buy, and a charger may or may not come with the machine.
• Mast and extras: a taller mast, a container mast that can work inside a shipping container, or a side shift (which slides the forks left and right without moving the whole machine) all add to the price.
• Imported or already here: the price of a machine brought in from abroad includes the shipping cost (freight) and the duty and taxes paid at the port. Because it is bought in foreign currency, that price changes when the rupee rises or falls.
• Delivery to your site: moving a forklift from one city to another needs a truck big enough to carry it, so the distance to your site and the size of the machine both go into the cost. We tell you that cost along with the price of the machine.

New or used is part of the answer too. A new forklift starts at zero hours, and a used one costs less and is a good buy when it has been checked properly. A photo of the outside of a forklift tells you very little. What you need to see are the parts that wear out and cost money to fix. So on every machine we offer you, we go through the same list and photograph or film each point, so you can judge a forklift you are not standing next to.

• Hours on the meter: we photograph the reading, so you see the real number and not just a claim.
• Mast and chains: the mast is the upright frame the forks ride up and down on. It should lift smoothly, and the lift chains should be even and within their wear limits.
• Forks: no cracks, both forks matched, and the heels not worn thin. The heel is the bend at the back of each fork, and it wears down from years of dragging on the floor.
• Tyres: how much tread is left and any cracking, photographed straight on.
• Engine or battery: a diesel or LPG engine should start and run clean with no leaks. On an electric machine we test the battery health, because a replacement battery is a big cost.
• Hydraulics: this is the oil system that lifts the forks. The forks should lift and hold their height without slowly sinking, and a slow drop usually points to worn seals or an oil leak inside that system.
• Cab and controls: the seat, the gauges and the levers, shown exactly as they are.
• Data plate and serial number: so you can check the model, the year and the exact machine yourself. Our forklift model number decoder shows you how to read the model code.

What this list cannot do is promise how long a used machine will keep going. It shows you what we found and the proof of it, so you decide with your eyes open. Whichever forklift dealer in Pakistan you buy from, us included, ask for a video of the machine, its hour meter and its data plate before you pay. A seller who really has the machine will not struggle to send them.

Buy for your heaviest regular load, not the heaviest thing you lift once a year. A bigger machine than your daily work needs costs more to buy and more to run. If a few loads a month are heavier than the rest, it can make more sense to rent a bigger machine for those days than to own one all year.

Remember too that the capacity written on a forklift is not what it lifts in every position. The data plate gives the rated capacity at a stated load centre, which is how far the middle of the load sits from the upright part of the forks, usually 500 millimetres, about half a metre, on the common sizes. It also tells you up to what height the machine can lift that weight. If you lift higher, or carry a long or bulky load like a big bale or a wide crate that sits further out on the forks, the safe capacity drops.

• 1.5 to 2 ton: pallets, light warehouse work and tight indoor spaces.
• 2.5 to 3 ton: the most common size. Most factories and warehouses buy in this range.
• 3.5 to 5 ton: loading and unloading containers, steel, marble and block, and heavier yard work.
• 7 to 10 ton and above: ports, timber, heavy machinery and industrial lifting.

If the forklift has to drive inside a container to load or unload it, the height matters as much as the weight. You need a mast that is low enough to pass through the container door, and that can still lift once it is inside. This is called a container mast. This is the choice that decides your running cost for years, and it depends on two things: where the machine works, and what power you actually have on site. In Pakistan the second one matters a lot, because an electric forklift is only useful if you can charge it. So if your site has long load-shedding or runs on a generator, plan the charging before you choose electric.

• Diesel: strongest outdoors and on rough ground, and the easiest to keep running in Pakistan, because diesel is sold everywhere and mechanics who know diesel engines are easy to find. So for yard work, container loading and factory loading bays, a diesel forklift is usually the right one to buy in Pakistan. The fumes are what make it wrong for closed indoor spaces.
• LPG: cleaner than diesel, so it can work indoors if the building has good airflow, and swapping the gas cylinder refuels it in a few minutes. Before you choose it, check that you can get a steady supply of forklift gas cylinders near your site.
• Electric, lead acid (the standard battery, like a very large car battery): quiet, no fumes and a low running cost, and right for clean indoor floors such as food, pharma and textile warehouses. The battery needs a long charge on reliable power, usually overnight, and regular topping up with distilled water, so on a used one check the battery health and what a replacement would cost.
• Electric, lithium: charges fast, never needs topping up with water, and the battery lasts more years before it needs replacing. Because it can take a charge in a short break, it copes better with a working day broken up by load-shedding. The newer Chinese electric machines are built around it.

Which fuel should you buy? →

Not every job needs a normal forklift. The normal kind is called a counterbalance forklift, because the heavy weight at the back balances the load on the forks. If you are stacking pallets high in narrow aisles, a reach truck does what a counterbalance cannot: its mast reaches forward into the racking, the tall steel shelves the pallets sit on, so the whole machine does not have to drive up to it. That means your aisles can be about half as wide as a normal forklift needs, and you can stack far higher, often to eight metres and beyond.

We source electric reach trucks and other warehouse machines, including Crown, Raymond, Linde, Jungheinrich and the Chinese equivalents. These are indoor machines for flat, finished floors, like racked warehouses, cold stores and distribution centres, and they depend completely on their battery, so the battery test matters more than anything else on a used one.
