Toyota is the world's number one forklift brand and the safe pick for most buyers. It is known for lasting a long time, breaking down less, and being easy to get parts for almost anywhere. That reliability also means Toyota machines hold their resale value better than most.

If the budget is tight, the value brands are Hangcha, Heli, EP, Doosan and Maximal. These are much cheaper than the premium names and have grown fast worldwide. They do the same lifting, they are simple to run and fix, and for lighter or less frequent work they are smart money.
The trade is a shorter comfortable life and slightly lower resale than a Toyota or Linde. On a machine you use now and then, that trade often makes sense. EP in particular has pushed cheap, light electric forklifts that many small warehouses love.
Pick a premium brand when you lift hard every day, keep machines for years, or want the best resale later. Pick a value brand when the work is lighter, the budget is tight, or you only lift some days. In both cases, the hours and the condition matter as much as the badge.
