A short, practical forklift safety checklist for your site: the daily checks, safe loading rules, and the habits that prevent most accidents.
Only a trained, licensed person should drive a forklift, and they should never carry more than the rated capacity. Most forklift accidents come from untrained driving and overloading. Get those two right, keep people clear of the machine, and you remove the biggest risks on any site.
Do a quick walk-around before every shift: tyres, forks, mast, brakes, steering, horn, lights and any leaks. Check the fuel or battery, and that the load chart is on the machine. If anything looks wrong, stop and report it. A two-minute check prevents most breakdowns and incidents.
Keep the load low and tilted back while moving, drive at a safe speed, and slow right down at corners and doorways. Never lift people on the forks, keep the load square and centered, and watch for workers on foot. When the view is blocked, drive in reverse or use a spotter.
For tricky loads like containers and high racks, an experienced operator is the safest choice.
Keep walkways and forklift paths separate where you can, mark them clearly, and keep people out of the working zone. Make sure the floor is firm and level, doorways are clear, and there is enough room to turn. A tidy, marked site is a safe site.
Yes. Our operators handle this work daily and work to safe loading and driving practices. Clear the area, keep people back, and the job stays safe.
On your site, you control the area, the floor and the people. We provide a sound machine and, if you want, a trained operator. Safe work is a shared effort.
